Joseph Zeccola is an award-winning writer, director, and dramaturg.
A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (BA: Film, 1994; MFA: Playwriting, 1997), Joseph studied under Davey Marlin-Jones, professional film critic and director of over 1,000 theatrical productions, and award-winning playwright Julie Jensen.
Joseph has written over thirty scripts, including stageplays, screenplays, and teleplays. Scuba Lessons, Joseph’s one-act romantic comedy, has been produced almost 100 times since 2003, including a 2005 production by U.S. Soldiers in Iraq. His full-length play Horizons was produced as part of UNLV’s Fall 1995 University Theatre season and received a five-star review in the Las Vegas Review Journal. His ten-minute play Heart of Hearing was recently published in the anthology Ten 10-Minute Plays: Volume II.
Joseph has also written screenplays and teleplays for which he has received awards and notice. He has directed over twenty-five productions, including the short film, Twice in the Head.

Joe currently lives in Los Angeles, where he writes, directs, and teaches drama at Los Angeles Academy Middle School in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
